Special No 3

This reel is the forerunner of the now Barbel Master / Pike Master / Carp Master range, but it is even stronger, as all the line lay screws are A4 stainless steel. The check spring is made from stronger wire for a more positive check, and the brass check button has a knurled edge for a better grip.

I made this reel back in 1998 for Chris Jackson, the former owner of CJ’s Fishing Tackle shop in Harrogate. The reel hasn’t seen much action, so its condition is very good for its age. I’ve given the reel a full service and a light clean to complement its original finish.
