The spool and backing are made from 6082T6 high grade Aluminium bar stock. Then anodised to your chosen colour. The centre bush is made from COLFOS 90 PHOSPER-BRONZE. The spindle is made from 174 PH which is medical grade tool steel. The spindle is then hand polished to fit the bush to achieve a running clearance of .01 mm or .0005". The spokes and line lays are made from solid NICKEL SILVER. The reel is assembled with all brass screw fastenings of a high grade turned quality. I do not use rivets in my assembly because they can work loose over time.
The reels are partly run in to spin for 3/4 of a minute from new and will increase to about 1 1/2 minutes.
Each reel takes about 40 hours to build.
Maintenance
The reels are very low maintenance, just a drop of light oil to the spindle and a spot of MARINE reel greese to the rachet mechanism. I recommend a very thin light low viscosity oil. NEVER use WD40, 3 in 1 or silicone oils which will harm the spindle and invalidate the guarantee..
The reels carry a timeless guarantee against defects and malfunctions.
